Charles F. McLaughlin

Charlie McLaughlin joined the University of Pittsburgh Office of Community and Governmental Relations in 2001 as director of commonwealth relations.

In his role as senior director for commonwealth relations, he represents the University in Harrisburg, fostering the relationship between the commonwealth and Pitt. McLaughlin also is tasked with lobbying for University funding, grants, and any legislation affecting Pitt. His efforts earned him recognition as a Higher Education Trailblazer from City & State PA.

He is a graduate of Duquesne University and has worked in student services at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels.

Prior to joining the Office of Community and Governmental Relations, McLaughlin volunteered on numerous state, local and judicial campaigns. He served as an elected committee person in the City of Pittsburgh and interned for two summers with Pittsburgh City Council.
