Jonathan Goldstein

As vice chancellor for communications and donor relations, Jonathan Goldstein leads a team in planning and executing strategies to cultivate engagement and philanthropy among alumni, donors and other friends of the University of Pittsburgh. His work focuses on storytelling, reporting and developing events to build support for the University’s mission and goals, especially those articulated in the Plan for Pitt.

Goldstein has worked in higher education communications for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Pitt’s Division of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement in 2019, he served in similar roles at Dartmouth College and Duke University, supporting comprehensive fundraising campaigns at each of those institutions. Goldstein was a newspaper reporter for more than a decade before moving into university communications.

He earned a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in journalism and political science at Syracuse University. Goldstein is the proud father of two University of Pittsburgh students.
