Lexi Belculfine serves as a senior director at the University of Pittsburgh, creating a process to catalog, count and tell stories about the University’s public impact — how Pitt contributes beyond its campuses to the well-being of communities.
She joined the University in 2021 to work in University Communications and Marketing, where she directed publications Pittwire and Pitt Magazine before joining the Office of External Relations in 2025 to help launch the Public Impact portfolio.
Prior to that, Belculfine, a lifelong Pennsylvanian, worked as a journalist and editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer; the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; local news startup The Incline; and Penn State’s student-run newspaper, The Daily Collegian.
She earned an Executive MBA at Pitt’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in journalism at Penn State.
